You Are The Flame

Remember always. A poem.

Remember always that you dance

The line between wild and tame

You are the source of light to the world

For you, you are the flame

You are the flame,

From kindling to ash

Blaze high and mighty,

Be something that lasts

You are the flame

From spark ‘til explosion

Attract with your greatness

Set others in motion

You are the flame

From burning to ember

Inspire faith within them

Make them remember

Run toward the darkness

You be the light

Run toward the broken

You make it right

Run toward the hopeless

You give them hope

Run toward the reaching

You be the rope

Run toward the cold

You keep them warm

Run toward the drifting

Help weather their storm

Let you remember that you are water too,

Fluid and constant in motion

The innocent drop of morning dew

And the most powerful wave in the ocean

Let you remember if you choose to be wind

Violent and mean you can blow

Or a gentle breeze, to them you can send

in the most beautiful direction to go

Let you remember that you are the soil

From which beauty and nourishment grow

And lets not forget you’re the men and their toil

Reaping so others can sow

Give warmth to the freezing.

Give sight to the blind.

Have the pain of the bleeding,

The powers of the divine.

You are the flame,

the fire,

the heat

Do not burn out and be your own defeat.

You are the flame,

The flicker,

The light,

If you burn you must, you must burn bright.
