Too Much Cage

A poem on rising to the occasion.

Too much cage with no breathing room

Don’t look at the beast, don’t speak to ‘em

That’s what they told, that - that was wrong

Up in his face, that’s where you belong.

Look in his eyes, feel his breath, full potency

Demand to be seen, look here, please notice me

Cower in fear, run - bad suggestions

Trapped in a cage, claustrophobic, congestion.

Go slay a dragon and bring back his scales

Go brave the sea and bring back some whales

Tell it on mountains like the song says to do

Break from the cage or the cage will break you.
